Butterflies

While releasing doves in weddings has been an old tradition around the globe, in Hawai'i it is customary to release butterflies after the bride and groom whisper them their wishes. According to an ancient legend, the butterflies will then carry the wishes to the heavens. In gratitude for giving the beautiful butterflies their freedom, the Great Spirit will grant their wishes.
